Why “There’s No Right or Wrong” Is Wrong

How many times have you heard this? “There’s no right or wrong; everybody is right in their own ways”. I am referring to the moral implication of this statement, not the subjective one. The subjective implication is of course true, that a person can choose what’s right for them, which others may or may not agree with, at any given point in time. There’s no argument about it. But this has been confused with the moral aspects and applied to the wrong contexts, and people all over are confused to an extent where discernment, empathy and moral ethics are thrown into oblivion.

Let me state an example. The other day I heard a couple on the internet share how they were raising their child(which from what they said, was completely the healthy way for both the child and the couple). To that, the interviewer responded, “ Oh, I guess I’m raising my child wrong then”. To this the couple unanimously said, “ No, not all. This is just our way of raising our child. There is no right way to raise a child. You must raise your child in your own way”.

I was baffled by the lack of discernment there and froze for a moment. As a wounded child myself, I KNOW that there is definitely a RIGHT way to raise a child. I was raised in the most WRONG ways possible and I’m still fighting my battles. What was more baffling was that these words came from a couple with a healthy parenting style. How were they able to say that there is no right way? Would they encourage harmful parenting in another couple? Let me tell you, lack of discernment is just plain dangerous.

In a nutshell, the truth is that people confuse right and wrong with perspective. They use these terms interchangeably and synonymously and now everyone is confused. I will be elaborating on this confusion later in the article.

Let’s explore what right and wrong actually means, in its deep esoteric meaning. I wish anyone who reads this more clarity and better discernment in life.

PERSPECTIVE

There’s a popular analogy that says the number 6 might look like 9 to one person, while it looks like 6 to another. So according to both, both are seeing the right thing– one is seeing 9 and the other is seeing 6.

Here’s one more. Have you seen a mirage while traveling in a car? From a distance, it looks like gleaming water but as you get closer, it vanishes.

There’s also an old saying, “The grass is greener on the other side”.

All of the above, are PERSPECTIVES. They are real, from the perspective of observation. When one’s thoughts arise from perspective, it is an OPINION. If it does not have any other foundation, it cannot be considered a fact or a truth, nor, right or wrong.

So, the next time you have an opinion, ask yourself whether or not it is based on truth or perspective.

TRUTH

Under Earth’s normal conditions, the Oxygen (O) atom is highly reactive and unstable. It therefore bonds with another O atom and exists as O2.

Humans cannot pass through a wall, because the atoms comprising both the human and the wall are densely packed. It can be possible only through some kind of structural dematerialization or transformation.

The above are facts. Not opinions, not perspectives. They are plain unbiased facts or truths of reality.

An opinion formed out of such facts is eligible for the determination of its morality, which leads us to the next topic.

RIGHT AND WRONG

The best way this can be understood is by using Immanuel Kant’s philosophy on Ethics:

“Act in such a way that you always treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end.”

What he means by this is that one must never use themselves or another person(against their will and consent, and at the cost of their well being) as a means to achieve personal desires(the end goal). A human, be it oneself or another must always be the end result. For example, your happiness can be an end result, a goal. Your friend’s happiness can be a goal. But these goals mustn’t be achieved by using a human as a means(a way).

Let’s look into some examples where humans become a means, and therefore are morally wrong:

  • Personal decisions: Putting yourself through an unsatisfactory career, for the fear of upsetting your parents. Here, although the end goal is considering a human’s emotions, it is being achieved by the means of another, which is yourself.
  • Gaslighting: Gaslighting is an act of dismissing truth and deceiving another person, just to make oneself feel better about their actions and to refrain from taking accountability. Here, the protection of the gaslighter’s emotions is the end goal, which is achieved by the means of another person(a victim).
  • Addiction: ALL forms of addiction are a way to achieve temporary physical, emotional, mental or spiritual stimulation, by using oneself as a means to achieve it. Here it is morally wrong because this act misuses one’s potential and purpose, connected to their consciousness, designed for a bigger purpose– one that of growth and evolution, on all the mentioned levels.
  • Violence: Let’s take the example of a parent hitting a child due to frustration or any other reason. Here the parent’s venting is the end goal, which is being achieved by the means of another person.

The list of categories and examples stated are non-exhaustive. You may imagine the rest as there are a plethora of them in our imperfect world.

MORAL FACTS

So why must we never put another human being as our “means” to achieve something?

The right and wrong defined above are based on moral facts or truths.

To elaborate on this moral fact, consciousness, that which the Universe is made of, comes with a moral duty, known as Dharma. To understand this duty in its simplicity, it means to do our best for ours and others’ highest good, with the aim of growth; because the purpose of consciousness can never be stagnation as its purpose is to experience(outwards) and be led to remembrance(inwards). The tool to achieve this, lies within consciousness–discernment; for without discernment, we cannot remember the source of our origin.

The consciousness of every individual is part of this divine blueprint. We must value this fact about not only ourselves, but that of others too. Otherwise, it’s just bigotry and hypocrisy.

To deny the existence of right and wrong, is to deny the existence of discernment. To deny discernment, is to deny oneself, and therefore a denial of consciousness and ALL that is(what people call God, Universe, or Quantum field).

This is the confusion I was talking about earlier. Humans, especially the ones in the new age false progressive timelines, have been deceived by “ there is no right or wrong”, in order to be steered away from their own intuition and discernment.

This confusion further deepens the state of spiritual amnesia–state of sleep(of consciousness) and further deepens the disconnection with one’s inner light.
