Meditation Is More Than Just Self-Care : Uncover its Metaphysical Purpose

The reason why meditation is important goes deeper than just general well-being. Sure, to put it simply, it is indeed for overall well-being—which includes the physical, mental, and spiritual levels of existence.

But what is the actual need for it? Why can’t I just do “well” by default, without the need to meditate explicitly? You can—but that requires a higher level of awareness and consciousness to achieve.

For now, let’s explore why most of us, journeying through this third-dimensional reality, need it.

THE NATURE OF OUR SOUL

To truly understand the purpose of meditation, we need to first explore some background on the nature of our being.

Before we get to that, I must advise you: if you’re not ready for certain information, feel free to disregard it or stop reading altogether. Take what resonates with you and leave the rest.

We humans are essentially souls (fragments of energy that are part of the cosmic consciousness) who have manifested themselves through the use of free will on Earth, in physical form to experience third-dimensional(3D) reality- the reality you see and live every day.

Every soul has a blueprint: a package of information or a record that has been collected over the age of the soul, that contains all of the cosmic fractality.

This blueprint allows us to experience or complete certain tasks in various dimensions or realities.

What this means is that our soul is a very powerful fragment of energy. It holds vast information, power, and potential that is infinite and limitless. It’s something we can’t fully fathom within the limits of the reality we are currently in.

The soul, in its natural state of being, is of the highest frequency because of the high amounts of information it contains. It exudes universal love and knows nothing of the emotions we experience in our 3D world—fear, lack, guilt, shame, etc.

INCARNATION

There can be a million reasons why a soul decides to incarnate on Earth. From clearing karma to mastering the 3D experience to simply seeking new experiences—it can be anything.

Whatever the reason may be, the process is the same for everyone. The soul must pass through a veil that separates the third dimension from the higher ones. Upon crossing this veil, we enter a state known as spiritual amnesia—a permanent, yet temporary, state of forgetfulness.

This means we begin life on Earth as a blank slate, with no memory of the vast record and information we carry within, or of why we came here.

From infancy, we depend on our external environment for direction as we begin our journey. We rely on others to teach us, shape our beliefs, and help us make sense of the world.

Now, this is the major pivotal point:

The majority of the 3D world we incarnated into is quite messed up. Most people are themselves in a state of spiritual amnesia—misguided, manipulated, and clueless about who they are and why they are here. These are the very people we rely on for “direction.” This is both the biggest joke and the deepest truth hidden in plain sight—one we fail to see until we “wake up.”

So, throughout our childhood and early adulthood, most of us live on autopilot. We function by default, running on the settings or programming given to us by our external environment—regardless of whether those influences are right or wrong, truth or lies, good or bad. And this continues for the rest of our lives—unless we, too, begin to remember who we truly are and why we came here.

Remembering who you are is what we refer to as a spiritual awakening—awakening from the sleep state of spiritual amnesia.

Now, of course, this may not happen to everyone—some souls come here specifically to experience the sleep state itself. But for the rest, this is your ticket to higher dimensions or higher levels of consciousness.

When we realize that the autopilot settings no longer serve our highest good, we begin to seek more. We seek answers and solutions to set things right. This search often arises through existential crises, relationship problems, mental and physical health issues, scarcity, and more. Some of us simply want to break free from the toxic cycles and repeating patterns in our lives.

ROLE OF MEDITATION

Once we start seeking answers and solutions, more often than not, we begin by looking externally—through other people, relationships, religion, and so on. And that’s okay; it’s part of the process. If you continue to progress along the right path with active discernment, you will eventually be led to seek within.

Within yourself lies the portal to higher dimensions. Through this portal, you can make quantum leaps into different realities and manifest anything you desire.

However…

We must first correct all that went wrong—all the unwanted, toxic autopilot settings that were given to us by the external environment we grew up in, which shaped us and our beliefs.

This part is called healing. And all those unwanted autopilot settings? That is trauma.

So you see, trauma isn’t just a single major bad incident. It’s everything that gets programmed into us and pushes us away from our true selves and our core energy—our true potential.

To heal this trauma, we must sit with ourselves, look into the most deeply buried parts of our being, and scan our entire life from the beginning. We must identify the unwanted settings, beliefs, and wounds that were passed on to us—and then, one by one, begin to heal.

To summarize:

  • It gives you the silence and solitude needed to hear your true inner self and see your wounds.
  • It offers a chance to unlock your true potential and manifest all that you desire.
  • It provides the opportunity to heal your inner wounds, reprogram limiting beliefs, and reclaim your sovereignty.
  • It helps you discover your true path and purpose.
  • It facilitates healing not just of the mind, but also of the body and soul.

CONCLUSION

Meditation is not always about emptying the mind. In essence, meditation is a powerful tool for remembering who you truly are, healing deep-rooted patterns, and reconnecting with your higher self. It guides you inward—where all the answers, potential, and transformation reside.
