Affirmations That Work | How to Use Them Properly

We know that affirmations are statements used to shift our mindset or inner programming.

In reality, every thought we believe, acts as an affirmation. When you think to yourself, “I’m not going to be able to achieve that,” you are affirming to yourself that you cannot do something.

This thought then becomes part of your subconscious programming, influencing your actions even when you’re not consciously aware of it.

Now that you understand that every thought you have and every piece of information you consume can serve as an affirmation if you believe it, you can leverage this to your advantage.

THE NEED FOR  AFFIRMATIONS

We have been using affirmations all our lives, whether we realize it or not.

The teachings we receive as children and the information we gather from our surroundings act as affirmations, shaping our beliefs. These affirmations create our inner programming, which can be positive or negative.

Negative programming often stems from being raised in unhealthy environments surrounded by unhealed individuals.

As children, we absorb information indiscriminately, whether positive or negative, and store it in our subconscious. During this time, our discernment may not yet be active—indeed, even many adults lack active discernment—which is why most people carry negative programming from childhood into adulthood, often unconsciously.

This then manifests as undesirable and draining experiences. That’s when you know it’s time to self-reflect and identify what beliefs you’ve been functioning with.

Remember, it’s never too late to reprogram your mind and body to completely transform your reality.

CAN AFFIRMATIONS SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS?

This varies from person to person, as it is subjective to each individual’s situation and upbringing. It’s important to note that deep wounds could possibly lie beneath these negative inner programs. Acknowledging and healing these wounds is important and should be your priority. If your focus is only on achieving your desires without addressing these underlying issues, it can be counterproductive.

Use your judgment and consider combining affirmations with other healing methods for a more holistic approach.

HOW TO USE AFFIRMATIONS EFFECTIVELY?

Relax:

If you are new to this, you need to learn how to get into a focused mode. Practice relaxing. Sometimes, humans have to learn from scratch how to relax. Relaxing isn’t just taking deep breaths; it’s letting go and surrendering to the present moment. This process prepares your subconscious to absorb new information and helps you truly believe your affirmations.

Environment:

Choose an environment that instantly raises your vibration, like a park. If you don’t have access to such a place, that’s fine too. This is completely optional. You can still do it anywhere you’d like.

Customize:

Although you can find many affirmations online, customize them and write them in your own words to fit your situation. The goal is to create an affirmation that resonates with you and feels believable to you.

Feel and Visualize:

When reading your affirmations, take your time to truly feel the meaning. For example, if you are reading “I am rich,” try to feel what it would be like to be rich. Visualize what you would be doing and where you would be.

Believe:

Don’t forget to believe your affirmations. Remember, if you can think of it, it is possible.  It already exists; you just need to tune into the frequency of your desire. Trust that this reality exists and believe in it.

Repeat:

Repeat this process a few times during one sitting, especially if you are new to it. Practice every day. As you become accustomed to this new belief, you can reduce the frequency as it starts to become your new mindset. Be patient with yourself and allow time for changes to manifest.
